The high-quality movie and TV series torrent site RARBG announced that it would be shutting down. The platform, which has been serving for about 15 years, made the sudden decision to close its doors, stating that it could not sustain its costs after the Covid-19 pandemic.

RARBG goodbyes because it can’t afford the costs

The torrent platform RARBG was first launched in 2007. The website, created for the purpose of downloading movies and series, announced that it had decided to close down. When users visited the torrent site, they encountered a short message stating that RARBG had been shut down.

While the message does not go into details, it mentions that they experienced some unexpected events after Covid-19. It was highlighted that some members of the development team lost their lives, while others struggled with permanent health problems.

You can activate Windows XP without internet after all

Windows XP activation algorithm cracked, allowing offline activation. However, using unsupported and vulnerable OS poses security risks.

Furthermore, it was reported that the expenses allocated for the site had significantly increased, leading to financial difficulties. RARBG expressed regret over this decision and stated that they could no longer continue to manage the site unanimously.

The message also referred to the rising electricity prices in European data centers. As energy costs increased, it became more challenging for RARBG to sustain its operations without financial resources. When combined with inflation and the resulting daily expenses, the team realized that it was impossible to cover these costs out of their own pockets.

This sudden closure of RARBG caught users off guard. It was popularly used by those who wanted to watch high-quality movies/series. However, we would like to remind you that torrent movie streaming is illegal and can result in administrative penalties.
